Phil Jones looks dejected upon hearing the news Man City have pipped Man United to the title in 2012

Phil Jones has warned Manchester City they can still be caught, like Manchester United were six years ago.
Jones was part of the side who relinquished the 2011/12 title in the last minute thanks to Sergio Aguero’s historic goal.
And with City sitting 12 points clear this season, Jones has advised the Citizens to not start celebrating too early – especially after their first defeat of the season.
“Football’s football, never say never,” he said.
“I remember in my first season we were eight points clear, absolutely cruising, (everyone thought there was) no way we’d let the lead slip, and we lost it on the final day.”
With Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm, United somehow managed to surrender an eight point lead in April of 2012 and lose the title on goal difference.
Although it seems more improbable now, the 25-year-old insists anything can happen in this game.
“Football’s football. People can say what they want but we’ll continue to be positive and push forward.
“You never know. It happened in 2012 to us so why not?”
